This year, both Tulp Festival and Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam celebrate their tenth anniversary. We are also celebrating ten years of collaboration. It started with an exclusive (7-course) tulip lunch for guests and press, created by chef Sidney Schutte from Spectrum restaurant, on the occasion of the opening of Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam. With his culinary mastery he managed to capture the essence of the tulip in a tasty and refined gastronomic experience. At Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam, tulips will once again play a central role in the enchanting UNESCO World Heritage protected garden this anniversary year. The tulip, this beautiful spring flower so strongly associated with Amsterdam, is not only a decorative garden element for our guests, but is also a symbol of the rich cultural heritage of the Netherlands.
This year there are scales of tulips in the hotel’s courtyard garden with the mixture ‘Royal Princes’ soft yellow, lilac and purple.
